Frank Lawrence - Missouri State House District 30

Frank Lawrence - 2024 Missouri Green Party Candidate for State House District 30

I was raised on a large Minnesota farm. I am very well acquainted with the rural Midwestern culture.

I have four college degrees:
BA in Biololgy and Chemistry
BS in Medical Technology
MA in Medical Microbiolgy
MBA Healthcare Administration

I have been a long-term resident of Independence and Lee’s Summit since 1979.

I worked in hospital and reference laboratories for over fifty years. The last ten ten years of my working career was spent as a traveling, consulting, contract, Laboratory Manager.

I have been active in politics for over fifty years as a Democrat. However, I switched to the Green Party because it was a better fit with my values.

My primary areas of interest are: Education, Healthcare, Science, Environmental sciences, infrastructure, transportation, business development, and agriculture justice and gun safety.

As a Green Party volunteer I will not have the conflicts of interest present in our money corrupted political system. If elected I will be focused on offering a series of bills, and amendments that will benefit all of the citizens of Missouri.

I would prioritze the things to improve in the State of Missouri when our scores are less than average in our comparative rankings with other States.

I am a progressive liberal. Our government and society needs improvements and reforms. Most of our citizens want our governments to respond to their needs.

I am opposed to our current two party system. Without the influence of minor parties our two primary political clubs frame every issue as good versus evil. They have no incentive to improve or reform anything.

Most of the democracies have multiple political parties. They offer valid choices and alternative ideas. We need a representative form of government that represents the entire range of opinions.

Many of our problems are the result of political mistakes. We tend to elect authoritarian conservatives in our governments to maintain the status quo. The result of this push to return to some period in the past that doesn't exist. We end up with a Missouri that scores poorly in many of the important measureable categories.

I would advocate for reasonable retirement ages on our government leaders. We should be mentoring the next generations to take the leadership positions.

I would advocate for the removal of most campaign money from our political system. Most of the money raised is spent on useless advertising, consulting fees, legal fees and lawsuits. The real expenses for actually operating our democracy have been cut back to the point of losing half of the polling locations in our state. Voting should be a non-partison utility that is run by the county level governments.

Americans spend twice as much for their Healthcare and get very poor outcomes. We need a universal single payor system that removes most of the unnecessary over head expenses.

Americans need to reduce our spending on war. We need to have a government that is not a world wide colonial power. We should be advocating respect for international laws, diplomacy and peace.
