One of the key strengths of the Green Party is that we do not accept donations from the wealthy and Big Business. Therefore, we are able to represent the interests of the people, the social movements and our members. This is also a weakness because we, the Green Party, do not have adequate resources, and when an individual or group does have resources, they can control what is done without accountability to the party.
Our solution to this issues was to develop a dues-paying (or other form of support for those who cannot afford dues) membership structure for the Missouri Green Party. Along with a membership structure, we are continue to develop and refine our process decisions are made in a democratic way so that members have an equal voice.
